Obituary of Adrienne Bishop
Adrienne Rogers Bishop, daughter of the late Dr. William C. Rogers MD and Helen Willis Rogers, was born on May 30, 1950 in Philadelphia. She was the second of two children. She departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at home in Wyncote, PA after a long illness.
Her early education was completed in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia where she earned her bachelors degree. After leaving Virginia State University she earned her Masters degree in Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was employed by Youth Services as a Social Worker for 25 years. She married Samuel E. Bishop in Philadelphia.
Adrienne was active in various social organizations. She was a member of the Northeasterners and the Mount Airy Garden Study Club. Adrienne, who was known to her friends as Eggie, enjoyed gardening, casino trips to Atlantic City, traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with her friends including the "Exotic 8."
Adrienne will be remembered by her loving family. She is survived by brother, William C. (Jane) Rogers Jr., nephew and godson, William C. (Kristin) Rogers III, and their twins, Owen and Brynn Rogers and Samuel E. Bishop.
