Alexandria "Alex" Corcoran was born in Germantown on August 17, 1922. She graduated from Germantown High School. After high school, Alex worked at the British Consulate in Philadelphia. In 1945, she traveled to England to marry Richard Corcoran, a Marine Engineer in the Royal Navy. Alex and Richard were stationed in Malta and England where they had their daughters, Jean, Ann, and Helen. In 1955 the family immigrated to the United States and settled in Oreland, PA. Alex was a bookkeeper at Grants in Flourtown and later at McNeil Labs in Fort Washington. She enjoyed vacationing at their Ocean City home, reading, and gardening.

Alex is survived by her daughter, Jean Trader; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Richard; and daughters Helen Trautman and Ann Emery.
