Obituary of Ann Harting

HARTING, ANN WEAVER, of Meadowood in Worcester, on December 17, 2009. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Emily (nee Ball) and Wesley Harting. Miss Harting received a BA from Ursinus College in 1948 and a Masters of Social Work degree with a major in Community Organization from Bryn Mawr College School of Social Work in 1961. She had a long professional outreach in social services which culminated in her being the executive director of the Philadelphia Center for Older People, a position she held from 1979-1990. An avid golfer and bridge player, she was a member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Miss Harting served in the Amercian Red Cross in Europe post World War II and in the Korean War. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and great grand nieces and great grand nephews.
