Obituary of Anna Kemp
ANNA MAE KEMP was born on December 4, 1928 in Concordville, PA, the daughter of the late Bessie Beachem and William (Bill) Reed. The Lord called her home on February 14, 2012. Educated in the West Chester PA school system, she spent much of her childhood in the loving care of her grandparents, Aunts and Uncle after the passing of her mother when she was a young child.
Later she moved to Philadelphia where she met and married the late John D. Kemp. Anna spent more than 25 years working at The Haverford State Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Soon after retiring, Anna reentered the nursing field and went to work for Silver Springs Martin Luther School in Plymouth Meeting and finally, she enjoyed working at Small World Discovery Center.
Anna was known by all as a devoted and caring woman who enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Her vibrant personality and infectious smile warmed the hearts of everyone she touched. Anna could be counted on by anyone who asked and she was a true beauty, both inside and out. She also spent time volunteering at St. Barnabas Episcopal School and delivered meals on wheels to the elderly.
Anna is survived by her daughter Joanne, granddaughter Kia, great-granddaughters Jaylin and Sydney Ann and a sister Annette, in California. She enjoyed a close and loving relationship with her two step-children, the late John Kemp Jr. and the late Janice Rivers. She also leaves behind to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
