Obituary

Anthony "Tony" DeFelice, 80, of Plymouth Meeting, PA, died at home on Sunday, July 28.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Mary (Gianfrancesco) DeFelice. He was predeceased by sisters Maryjean (Grevy) and Roseanna DeFelice. Originally from South Philadelphia, the family moved to Plymouth Meeting in 1957, where he was a lifelong resident. While there he served the community as a member of organizations including the Civil Air Patrol, Plymouth Community Ambulance Association, and Plymouth Fire Co. Fire Police. He earned his pilot's license and enjoyed both flying and skydiving. He had many other interests and hobbies during his life, including playing the saxophone in the Mummers Parade.

Anthony was a devoted Catholic, who volunteered much of his time to ministering to the needs of many. He was especially devoted to Mary, the Mother of God. He headed the Legion of Mary organization for the Church.

Anthony is survived by his sisters' children, his dear niece and nephews, with whom he maintained a close relationship throughout his life. He is also survived by numerous cousins on both sides of the family, who shall miss him dearly, and who affectionately knew him as "Sonny", so named for his cheerful disposition as a child.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass to celebrate Tony's life at 12PM on Tuesday, August 27, at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, located at 3050 Walton Rd., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
