Barbara Gordon, age 88, of Blue Bell, PA passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family.
Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Mildred Frances (nee: O'Neill) Gordon on April 17, 1938. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Barbara earned a bachelor's degree and is an alumnus from Temple University. She went on to earn a master's degree in social work from Villanova. She worked as a Mental Health Administrator for the state of Pennsylvania for a number of years. She enjoyed playing tennis, cooking, baking, and making pastries. She was a wonderful homemaker and artist, especially with watercolors. She was also a Rosarian at her home in Blue Bell. She loved to read and write about various mental health subjects. Barbara loved traveling with her husband, Chuck. They have completed their bucket list, seeing two thirds of the world. They always recommend doing this while you can and have no regrets. Barbara coauthored many articles in the state of Pennsylvania and was a champion of mental health in the state of Pennsylvania.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Charles Dewey, her nieces, Betty (nee: Flynn) Mellow and Barbara Jean Flynn, and her cousins, Carol (nee: Dutton) Hoole, Anne (nee: Stoloff Brown, Amy (nee: Stoloff) Stefich, and Richard Stoloff. She is predeceased by her brother, Sonny Flynn.
Barbara will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 11 AM.
