Bess Wray (Aronian), 80, of Ambler, P.A., passed away on July 6th, 2024 in Abington, P.A.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 22 East Chestnut Hill Avenue, Philadelphia, PA (Chestnut Hill) at 11:00 AM, with Paxton Wray officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM at the church.

Bess was born in Passaic, N.J. to John Martin Aronian and Ruby (Hovsepian) Aronian on August 22, 1943. She graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1961 and went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she received a B.A. in English in 1965 and an M.S. in Ed. Counseling in 1967. After working as both a caregiver and a case coordinator, Bess became passionate about issues affecting the elderly. Throughout her long career she has given many talks and presentations to church, community and professional groups, particularly around topics such as the effects of increasing isolation on the elderly and thriving at home as we age. Bess's legacy to the community is Human Touch Home Care, Ltd., a home care registry she founded in 2005, which remains one of the most respected resources available to families in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Bess was an enthusiastic gardener and a voracious reader with an insatiable curiosity. She was a lifelong learner who applied the lessons she learned in her own life to the important work of helping others.

Bess was a perfect mother and grandmother who was in constant contact with her children and grandchildren. They will forever treasure the time they had with her and will carry her love with them always.

Bess is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paxton Wray, of Ambler, PA; twin daughters, Abigail Wray and Amanda Kaplan, of Charlotte, N.C., and grandchildren Annie, Ben, Jay, Charlie, Becca, Amelia and Caroline. She was preceded in death by her son, Alex.
