Obituary of Betty Paul

Betty J. Paul, 89, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa passed away Christmas Day, December 25th, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Brightview Assisted Living in East Norriton, PA.

Betty was born in Norristown, Pa on April 9, 1922 to Frank A. Helman and Florence (Price) Helman. Betty lived in Norristown most of her early life and moved to Plymouth Meeting in 1953.

On December 16, 1945 Betty married the love of her life John (Jack) Paul. Betty worked in Philadelphia as the secretary to the Vice President of Western Union before and during her early marriage. She enjoyed her years working in Philadelphia and attending political conventions for Western Union. Betty later worked and traveled with her husband while he was in the service. When Jack and Betty returned to Plymouth Meeting, and after their girls were born, she was later employed in the Montgomery County Court House as the Chief Marriage License Clerk for 12 years and gathered many funny stories about couples, young and old, preparing to marry.

Some of Betty's greatest passions included playing cards with her friends and family, watching sports such as tennis and basketball, especially the 76ers, reading, and talking politics. She also very much enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her two grandchildren.

Betty was pre-deceased by the love of her life, John (Jack) A. Paul, her brothers Francis Helman, Charles Helman, sister Molly Cotton, sisters-in-law Alice Helman, Eleanor Canase, Peggy Hartley, Patricia Klotz, Anne Helman, Carmen Helman, brothers-in-law William Croll, William Cotton, James Canase, Ray Klotz, James Radcliffe and Robert Hartley.
