Obituary

Charles Edmon Conner, Jr. fondly known as "Reds", age 94, of Flourtown, PA beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Neely) Conner, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Ambler, PA. Born on April 22, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles Edmon Conner Sr., and Helen (Cluck) Conner.

Reds was a graduate of Springfield High School, class of 1946. He met and later married his wife Dorothy in 1948. Out of their union two daughters were born, Judy and Beverly. He was a salesman for Whitemarsh Paper and later in 1963, Reds became owner of Springfield Paper Specialties in Fort Washington, PA. Charles learned to play the trumpet, thus creating a swing band called The Royal Aces of Hearts. The band would perform at various events and showcases across the state of  Pennsylvania and beyond. When Charles was not entertaining, he occasionally enjoyed playing golf. He enjoyed traveling to Florida, Ocean City, NJ, and Puerto Rico with his family. He was loved by family, friends, and all who came into contact with him.

Charles is survived by his daughter Beverly Conner- Chaires, brother Richard Conner, sister Barbara Conner- Pond, three grandchildren; Jason Madden (Kimberly), Jaron Madden- Whelihan, Tiffany Chaires- Zebron; and seven great- grandchildren; Rachel, Ryan, Jake, Brynne, Patrick, Ryan, and Braden. Reds also leaves to mourn "Snickers" the dog and "Thumper" the rabbit. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter; Judy Conner - Harris.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, from 12PM at KIRK & NICE FUNERAL HOME located at 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA, where Memorial Services will be held at 1PM. Inurnment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Charles' memory to Flourtown Presbyterian Church at 1710 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031.
