Greeby Jr.
April 9, 1931 – May 2, 2020
Charles (Bud) Greeby, Jr., age 89, died May 2, 2020 of cerebral amyloid angiopathy in the comfort of his home. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jill and his parents, Anna Tassey Greeby and Charles K. Greeby, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jane Bolton Greeby, his two daughters, Elizabeth Richards (Steve), Paige Earley (Kevin) and his five grandchildren Scott, Charles (Kathleen), Megan, Stephen and Paige. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Rohr (Ernest) and his brother Ronald along with many nephews and nieces.
Bud was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 9, 1931. He grew up in Burholme located in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. He met the love of his life, Jane, on a blind date. Bud and Jane were married on September 19, 1953. He called Jane "my bride" throughout their life together. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan. Bud and his father owned Greeby and Son, an excavation business before joining General Electric. He worked at General Electric as an Electrical Engineer for 34 years before retiring in 1993. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in 1970. Bud was a Master Mason of Lodge #245 F&AM of Doylestown, PA. Bud's mechanical and craftsman skills were numerous. He could fix anything. Home improvement, gardening, woodworking and car repair were his passions. Most of all he enjoyed time with his wife, Jane, his family and friends. He was a generous man known for giving his time to help his family, friends and those in need. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Doylestown, PA where he volunteered as an usher and assisted with various church activities including Sunday School.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church located in Doylestown, Pa at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. www.pulmonary fibrosis.org.
