Obituary of Charles Jones

Mr. Charles E. Jones of Green Bay VA passed away Sunday September 25th, 2011. He was 91 years old. Born in Philadelphia PA on March 19th, 1920 he enlisted in the Marines after graduating from high school. While in the marines he married his late wife Helen E. (nee Jeffers) and when he returned from the service he worked for Curtis Publishing until moving to New Hampshire where he worked for Rumford Press. Shorlty thereafter he moved on to Ohio where he and Helen owned the Roadside Inn in Lodi and where he also worked for Gowe Press in Medina. After Helen's passing he met and later married his wife Rotha and later moved to Farmville, Virginia where he spent his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and provided many of his works to family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his former wife Helen and his son Charles, Jr. In addition to his wife Rotha, Charles is survived by his Son Ray (Barbara), his daughters Elizabeth Horner (Joe) and Nancy Jones (Tracey), and his stepsons, Mike Adkins (Joann) and Allen Adkins. In addition he is survived by 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
