Charles W. Pierce, Sr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, August 4th 2024 at the age of 90.  He was the beloved husband of Regina (Renner) Pierce and is survived by Deborah P. Currie (Ray), Charles Jr. (Karen Spencer), David, Douglas, Megan, and also his step-children, Brian Mainart, and James Renner (Lauren Marshall).   He will be missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Charles is predeceased by his parents Charles and Anna (Massenburg) Pierce, son Gregory, and step-son, Christopher Mainart.

Charles attended Dobbins High School before proudly enlisting to serve our country in the United States Navy.  He served on the USS Macon and later the USS New Jersey.  He married Dorothy and started his family in Philadelphia, upon her passing, his family grew after he married Regina.  He was mechanically inclined and held various positions throughout his life.

Charles enjoyed volunteering at Grace Lutheran – Wyndmoor Church, and his role as Senior Vice Commander of the American Legion Post #100 in Wyndmoor.  When not busy with those responsibilities, he enjoyed his time with his family and friends and the occasional puzzle.

Friends and family are invited to Charles' visitation at Grace Lutheran Church, 801 East Willow Grove Avenue, Glenside, PA  19038 on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at 10:00 am.  A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am before we accompany Charles to his final resting place at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA  19462.
