Charlotte
Childs
Jan 17, 1941 — Jul 8, 2026
Charlotte Marie Childs passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at St Mary’s Manor, Lansdale, PA. She was 85 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 17, 1941, Charlotte was the only child to the late Max P. Mordhorst and Hilda D. Mordhorst (nee:Jensen) Mordhorst. She grew up in Ardsley, PA and graduated from Abington High School in 1958. Charlotte attended Temple University, where she majored in Elementary Education until 1960, when she chose to devote herself to raising a family.
Charlotte was previously married to Jack G. Childs, with whom she shared three sons. She was a loving and devoted mother who dedicated her life to her children, spending countless hours cheering them on and driving them to ice hockey and baseball games. Her unwavering love and support were the foundation of her family.
She proudly worked at Charles H. Mueller in New Hope, PA where she was a packing and shipping associate for various species of flower bulbs. In 1996, Charlotte joined the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown, serving as a Clerk Recorder in the Recorder of Deeds Office until her retirement.
Charlotte embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. She enjoyed gardening, fencing, archery, needlepointing, ceramics, traveling, cooking and baking. She was also a master bowler and, above all, a passionate fan of Philadelphia’s sports teams, faithfully cheering on her beloved Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers. She treasured the lifelong friendships she shared with the women affectionately known as “The Golden Girls” whose laughter, love and companionship brought her immense joy.
Charlotte’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her sons, Keith Childs and his wife, Janet; Robert Childs and his wife, Lori; and Craig Childs. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Samantha Childs, Max Childs, Jack Childs, Christopher JP Brouse, and Danielle Caras, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlotte’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation or another organization dedicated to Parkinson’s disease research and support.
Charlotte will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy of devotion, generosity, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
