David Gary Freed

Dave Freed passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20 with his family at his bedside.  He was 80 years old, born on January 9, 1940 in Philadelphia to the late Charles and Matilda (Staub) Freed.

Dave is survived by his daughters Tracey Krebs and her husband Karl Krebs of Las Vegas NV. and Terri Murgitroyde and her children Paige Speckhart, Paiton, Jacob and Lucas Murgitroyde; his long time companion Bettie Anne McMullen; his sisters Jane and her husband Edward Arentzen and Lois Michael; his brother Charles Stanley Freed and his wife Joan. He had fourteen nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Grace Thompson.

Dave was a proud alumni of Roxborough High School.  He was an avid traveler who enjoyed new experiences, new places, good food and wine.  He was a life long Philadelphia Phillies fan.

A memorial service will not be scheduled at this time due to the current situation in our country.  One will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's honor to the Old Academy Players in East Falls or Friends of the Falls Library.
