IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Ann
Tornetta
January 1, 1950 – December 19, 2021
Deborah Ann Tornetta, 71, of East Norriton, PA, passed away at home on December 19, 2021. She was born in Laconia, NH on January 1, 1950 to the late Paul S. and Virginia R. (Marshall) Mehl. During her childhood Deborah's father transferred for work often, so she spent time in Laconia, NH, Claremont, NH, Biddeford, ME, and Rutland, VT, before moving to Pennsylvania where she hopped to Scranton and Harrisburg, and then finally settled down in Willow Grove. During all that moving she went to Dunmore High School in Scranton and graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg before earning her AA degree from Montgomery County Community College.
It was at college that Deborah met her loving husband of 48 years, Frank A. Tornetta. They married on December 1, 1973. After college she worked for Prudential Insurance Company as a Medical Claims Examiner until the birth of her son in 1977. Then she became a work at home mom in order to raise Matt.
Deborah and Frank spent a lot of weekends buying and selling at flea markets and yard sales, and Deborah in particular was always on the lookout for jewelry, precious stone pieces, and shoes. She was an excellent cook, and loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. There were also back patio summer pool parties and babysitting engagements to look forward to.
Deborah is survived by her husband Frank; son Matthew E. Tornetta and daughter-in-law Melissa Dain Tornetta; grandchildren Abigail & Vanessa; brother David Mehl of Lake City, FL; nieces Lauren & Kristen; great nieces Abbie & Elena; and many other loving family and friends.
All are invited to a visitation on Monday, December 27 from 1:30-2:30pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:30pm, both at Kirk & Nice Inc. Funeral Home, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. We kindly ask that all guests wear a mask while inside the building. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park to follow.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Deborah's memory may be made to Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care, 523 Plymouth Rd. Suite 225, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 or to the American Cancer Society at PO Box 30386, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
