Denise E. (Lawlor) LaPenna, age 66, beloved wife of Joseph LaPenna with whom she shared 28 years of marriage, passed away on September 26, 2024, in Norristown.
Born on April 28, 1958, in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Wilhelmina Lawlor.
Denise was a graduate of Cheltenham High School.
An avid Philadelphia sports fan, Denise loved watching the Phillies and the Eagles.
For over 20 years, she enjoyed coordinating the St. Joseph's Parish annual Easter Egg hunt for children.
She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, playing Bingo, trips to the casino, and skiing.
Many memories were made with her family sitting on the front porch on 64th street in Avalon with Denise and her husband Joseph. Those moments filled with laughter and warmth are truly cherished. This lovely memory will be in our hearts and remind us of the joy of being together.
A devout Catholic, Denise was a true woman of faith who cherished her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband Joseph, Denise is survived by her siblings: Christine Cleary and her husband Charles, Ronald Lawlor and his wife Paula, Mark Lawlor and his wife Patricia, Donna Barnes and her husband Robert, Matthew Lawlor, John Lawlor and his wife Deborah, Bethann Robey, and Joanne Lawlor. She was also aunt to 17 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, October 8th from 9:30 AM and to her Service of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Chapel at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting PA. Entombment will follow at the Spruce Mausoleum at George Washington Memorial Park.
