Obituary of Edgar Howard

HOWARD, EDGAR, JR. at Crosslands Retirement Community in Kennett Square. Formerly of East Norriton, PA on December 24, 2009. Age 87. Son of the late Irene (nee Wilks) and Edgar Howard, he was born in Bradford, RI. He received a BS in Chemistry from Brown University in 1943, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry form Univ. of Illinois in 1946 and was a Post Doctoral fellow at Harvard University from 1946-1947. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, and many chemistry and mathematics honor societies including Sigma Xi and Alpha Chi Sigma. He was a Professor of Chemistry at Temple University for 39 years and was active in his community as a member of the Norristown Area School Board and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.

Beloved husband of the late Audrey W. Howard. Loving father of Nancy H. Agnew (Michael L.), James C. Howard (Patricia A.), and Carl F. Howard. Dear grandfather of Michael L. Agnew, Katrina N. Howard and the late Charles M. Agnew.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 9:30AM to11:00AM at the Kirk & Nice Funeral Home.
