Edward J. Tressider, 83, of Blue Bell, PA, died peacefully on Monday June 24 after a long illness.

Born and raised in Philadelphia by his father Edward, Sr., and his mother Margaret Hoover, he attended Roosevelt Junior High School, and St. Vincent's and Germantown High Schools.

Ed was a longtime employee of the James R. Kendrick Company, a textile mill in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, who then went on to work 27 years as a mail carrier for the U.S Postal Service in Abington, PA.

He was beloved and is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gwendolyn, son Richard (wife Susan) of Ambler, PA, and daughter Kathleen (husband Tom Kobus) of Wellington, FL, sister Barbara E. Riddle of Venice, FL, brother Robert of Boyertown, PA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ed will be remembered as a consummate do-it-yourselfer, carpenter and fine woodworker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the charity of your choice.

A celebration of Ed's life will be held at a later date.
