Obituary of Edward Ward

WARD, EDWARD C. , Jr., son of Benita and Edward C. Ward, passed away at the age of 80 on September 17, 2009. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward C. Ward III and his brother, Arnold Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Janice, his daughter, Donna Ward Barron, his grandson, Edward Barron, his brother, Clyde, his daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lang,his step-children Linda DeMedio and John De Medio and their children: Heather Charlesworth, Danielle Colangelo, Mason and Kaylee DeMedio and great grandson, Joseph.

Ed was retired from the Headquarters of the United States Post Office in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the occupation of Germany.

Ed was a member of the Hiram Gothic Lodge No. 81 in Chestnut Hill and the Tall Cedars Lodge in East Norriton. He served on the Norristown School Board for many years and was President of the Joint Operating Committee at the Center for Technical Studies. He was also on the board of directors of the Norristown Bell Credit Union where he additionally held the title of Board Secretary.

Ed was always played an active role in the community and for many years acted in various community theatre productions.
