Ethel Mae Young of Christopher Dock Retirement Community (formerly of Roxborough, Philadelphia, & Blue Bell) passed away on July 4, 2017 at the age of 82.

Born in 1934, she was the daughter of the late Allen J. Clifford and Mearl Marley Clifford. Ethel is survived by her husband Robert Karl Young, to whom she was married for 62 years; her two children, Donna, married to David Gunning of Philadelphia, PA and Sandi married to Joseph Majcher of Lancaster, PA; four grandchildren, Brian Gunning (wife Angela), Kelly Chu (husband William), Lynn Lawlor (husband Brian) and Nathan Majcher; four great-grandchildren, Grace, Rachel, & Eli Chu and Tessa Lawlor.

Ethel was a devoted wife and mother. She was a former Sunday School teacher, a member of the King's Daughters and very active in her church. She supported her daughters' through their school years, especially by attending all high school football games and band competitions, of which they were a part. She enjoyed bowling and ceramics for many years. She loved to vacation in Maine and go for long car rides. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, listening to show tunes & hymns, and watching old movies and musicals. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff of Christopher Dock for their compassionate care over the last four years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA on Friday, July 7, 2017 @ 11:00am. There will be visitation with the family before the service from 10:00-11:00am. Interment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park.
