Frederick F. Ohntrup, age 93, formerly of North Wales, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully Monday morning, June 24, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Frederick was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Frederick Herman and Florence (Stein) Ohntrup on November 29, 1930.   Frederick went to Northeast High School and graduated in 1948.  He went on to earn a  Bachelor's Degree in  Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Frederick's long career incorporated physics, engineering and service management. He has been published in several scientific articles and was  accredited with multiple patents, most notably in the area of semi-conductors.  Frederick also enjoyed woodworking, cabinetry, building electronics, boat building, cooking, photography and golf. His greatest joy however was his time spent with family whether it be family dinners at home, in restaurants or on family vacations.

Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy  (Dreisigacker) Ohntrup, his son Paul and his wife Darlene, and his daughter Cheryl Barnes and her husband Tim. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Ohntrup and sister Florence Dunfee.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, June 27 at 10:30 am, at the Heritage Chapel on the grounds of George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA 18974  A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am by Pastor Fritz Fowler. Please note:  there will be no visitation prior to the funeral service.
