Obituary of George MacFarland

Mr. George R. MacFarland of Jeffersonville passed away on November 5th, 2011. He was 82 years old. Married to his beloved wife for 62 years, he was a staunch outdoorsman. George enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, camping, archery, and was a White Stag Bowman. He also liked to garden and pretty much any outdoor activity. He was a member of the Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church where he was proud to be a choir member, usher, committee member and he also helped with distributing food bank donations to the hungry. He worked for Bell Telephone and later off shoots of that company as a linesman and supervisor for over 40 years and later for Delaney Telecom. He was a proud Korean War Veteran and will be greatly missed by many. In addition to his Wife Shirley (nee Myers) George is survived by his daughters Gail MacFarland of Florida, Gwen MacFarland-Boyd of Audubon and Cynthia MacFarland of West Norriton. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren Samantha and Taylor Boyd, his brother Robert and his wife Diana of Florida as well as many loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers William and Richard. Services and Interment are being held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to the Camphill Special School at Beaver run at 1784 Fairview Road Glenmoore, PA 19343.
