Obituary of George Reistad
George O. Reistad, age 70 of Tioga County and formerly Plymouth Meeting passed away on May 19th, 2010 of Pancreatic Cancer with his children by his side. Mr. Reistad was a Supervisor and Mechanical Engineer for the Budd Company where he worked for 39 years and retired from in 2001. He was the beloved father of Dawn Reistad (Kappine), Kim Eddinger (Reistad) and Erik Reistad (Sandy). He was the proud grandfather of David Reistad, Ed Eddinger, Brandon Eddinger, Krystal Kappine, Frank Kappine, Ryan Reistad and Evan Reistad. He is also survived by his Sister Tina Knopf (Reistad) as well as many great grandchildren including Jadelyn Reistad and Jasmine Kappine. He is also survived by many nieces and Nephews and was preceded in death by Helen Wall-Reistad in June of 2009. He had many talents and accomplishments and received numerous awards including: The Philadelphia Inquirer Award for being the MVP in the interleague football game for Roxborough High School in 1957, and the Twenty First Ward Athletic Associates Sports Hall of Fame honored him on May 4th, 2003. He also received the Mechanix Illustrated Certificate of Merit Award and participated for 10 years in the MS City to Shore Bike Tour. He loved the mountains, skiing, hunting, fishing and biking and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday evening May 26th, 2010 from 7-9 in The Heritage Chapel at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave. Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 and Thursday May 27th, 2010 from 9-10AM with a funeral service to follow at 10AM. Int. to follow in George Washington Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Ralph H.
