Obituary of Harold Vail
Harold (Hal) M. Vail., of Glenside, PA., Passed away October 23, 2014 at the age of 91. Born in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late Harold M. Vail, Sr. and Mary T (Geopfert) Vail of Philadelphia, PA
Hal attended Germantown High School, and was a graduate of the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism, Philadelphia in June of 1949, with a diploma in Journalism. He was a graduate of Temple University's School of Computer Science, Engineering and Architecture, Class of 1968.
He was a technical writer and editor for 27 years at Honeywell International, Inc., in Fr. Washington, PA. He made several narrative tapes while employed Honeywell. He retired at the end of 1985.
After retiring, Hal pursued a short writing career during which tine he had several poems published and two short stories. He conducted a business at home as a professional communicator. He had one brother, Robert J. Vail, who proceeded him in death.
He was the loving husband of Helen M. Vail. He hast two nieces, Cheryl A. Vail of Hatboro., and Christina Vail of Philadelphia, PA. He has two stepdaughters, Lisa R. Agster of Southampton., and Kimberly A. (John) Ziegler, and two grandsons, Nicholas W. and Nathan R. Ziegler of Willow Grove, PA, who where the light of his life.
He attended St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Glenside, PA He was in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany during 1945 and 1946
Relatives and friends are invited to Hal's Memorial Service at the Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, 11:00, Tuesday October 28th, a calling hour will begin at 10am till service time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Hal's memory to a charity of the donors choice.
