Obituary

Harriet Alberta (Hartranft) Ebinger, age 91, of Oreland, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Born on March 8, 1929 in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Harriet was the daughter of the late Harry Hartranft and Olive (Pooley) Hartranft and her only sibling of the late Alain M. (Hartranft) Zuck. She is survived by her two daughters, Glenda L. Dorrian and Susan G. Wampole. She is also survived by her grandson, Christian Dorrian, and great-grandson, John Dorrian.

After graduating from Germantown High School, Harriet went on to work at Bell Telephone Co. followed by 15 years at the Women's SPCA, where she developed her love of animals. Over the past fifty years she worked at various companies in the defense industry and most recently in the electronics industry until the age of 89 as an assembler, and acquired many skills including certification in soldering. An independent woman with a strong work ethic, Harriet's working career was continuous from age 18 to 89 yrs.

Harriet's hobbies included gardening, acquiring unusual plants, antiquing and going to flea markets with her daughters. She loved going to the shore with her family each year, where she would sit on the beach for hours. There were many day trips to Lancaster with her daughters, where she would never tire of the beauty of the landscape around her. A graveside service for Harriet will be announced at a future date.
