Obituary of Helen Dickup
Helen Inez Dickup peacefully passed into the hands of Our Lord Jeasus Christ on the afternoon of December 19th, 2009. She was born in Philadelphia, PA. on April 28, 1921 and was 88 at the time of her death. Shw grew up in South Philadelphia and as a young girl sang with the famous tenor Mario Lanza on the "Children's Hour" radio show. She graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1940 and attended Moore Institute of Art. A master artist in all mediums, her works are noted for their passionate use of color, detail, perspective, and shadowing. They serve as a living memory of her legacy. She is survived by her husband, William Gordon Dickup; Son, William Allen Dickup; Sister, Anna Lucci; and two grandsons, Timothy and Anthony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
A graveside service will be held at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave. Plymouth Meeting, PA. 19462, at a later date.
