Obituary of Irwin Stoloff

Stoloff, Irwin L. Dr. ("Irv") of Elkins Park, on December 16, 2011, age 84. Son of Michael and Sarah Stoloff both of Philadelphia. Irv graduated from Central High School where he was captain of the basketball team. He attended the University of Pennsylvania where he was a member of the basketball team and received the Wolman Award. He was graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College and completed residencies at Johns Hopkins University and Mt Sinai Hospital. Irv was board certified in internal medecine and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He served honorably as a Captain in the Naval Air Force during the Korean conflict. He practiced medicine and was an associate professor of medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital between 1951 and 2003. Married to the late Bernice Deitch Stoloff, together they had 3 children Ann, Amy and Richard. The proud grandfather of Sarah, Fred, Peter, Adam, Luke, and Alanna, he will be sorely missed by his children, in-law children and grandchildren.
