Jane graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1948. Her girlfriends formed a sorority of friendship that lasted a lifetime. She met the love of her life, Bud, on a blind date. They were married on September 19, 1953, which she considered "the happiest day of my life". Jane enjoyed working for Bell Telephone Company as a Customer Service Representative.
