Obituary

Janos Kovacs (John), born November 16, 1938 in Hungary to the late Stephen and Rose (Szabo) Kovacs. Janos came to live in the United States in 1957, became a naturalized citizen, and worked at the Philadelphia Ship Yard, Metal Stand Company, and National Chemical where retired at age 77.

Janos is survived by his wife, Dorisanne (Flood) Kovacs with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Janos' legacy lives on through his children, Stephen, Monica (Michael), Lucy (Terrence), Maryanne (Brian), Mark, and Adam (Stephanie); grandchildren, Timothy (Lauren), Victoria (Joseph), Kimberly, Jennifer (William), Matthew, Sabina, Zachary, John, and Andrew; and great grandchildren Arianna, Hallie, Logan, Connor, Isabella, Fiona, Nicholas, Leo, and Chloe. Janos is also survived by his sisters Mary and Rose; brother Joseph; sister in law Joyce Wagner; and many nieces and nephews in the United States and Hungary. He was preceded in death by his brother Mike (Elizabeth), Andrew, and brother in law Chester Wagner.

Janos enjoyed gardening, video games, and board games with family and friends. He was known to enjoy having a Miller High Life after a hard working day along with a cigarette til the end.

Janos was a very quiet man, loved to tell stories of the old days, loved his family unconditionally.

Dad quotes:
When say I love you to my dad he would sometimes reply "me too" - he did love you but didn't always say it but you knew he did.
Dad how are you felling? His response, "with my hands".
Dad what's going on? Response: "same old shit, different day".

Our lives will be forever changed with his passing and our hearts will be a little broken til we see him again.
