Obituary of Jerome DeMelo

Jerome Joseph DeMelo, "Butch", was born September 29, 1954 to the late Jerome DeMelo, Sr. and Odessa DeMelo at Charleston Naval Hospital in Charleston, SC. Butch received his early education at St. Malachi, Our Lady of Mercy, and St. Stephens. He graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1972. He attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC and graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1976. Upon graduation, he moved to the Pacific Northwest and began working as Head of Recruiting with the Boeing Aeronautic Company. Butch worked fro 27 years in their Seattle office, recruiting and traveling. In 2004, Butch moved with Boeing to Australia, where he met his partner, Debra Leigh. In 2009, Jerome returned home to Philadelphia, PA. to be with his family. Butch was a huge sports fan and enjoyed all types of sports. He also enjoyed traveling all over the world, but no matter where he was, he always came home to be with his family for Christmas. Jerome departed this life on January 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Robin White, on 9/18/2012.

Butch leaves to mourn, his mother Odessa White, brother Tyrone DeMelo, sisters-in-law Bonnie DeMelo & Carmen Rivera, nephews Nathaniel & Eric White, Nieces Ciera & Lauryn DeMelo, Janay Rodriguez, an adopted sister Patricia Carrigan, and numerous cousins, relatives and friends.
