Joan Lynn Cluss, "Joanie" loving sister, aunt, and friend, died suddenly Monday February 7, 2022 in Philadelphia.
Joan was born to Marjorie (Messner) and Hans Cluss on September 22, 1949 in Philadelphia where she resided her entire life. After graduating from Kensington High School In 1967, She worked briefly but dedicated her life to the service of her family becoming the caretaker of her parents and settling in Port Richmond. She herself enjoyed her coffee and cream donuts, reading and puzzles, spending time with family and friends, cheering for the hometown Phillies and Eagles, and going on daily long walks with friends, family, and her great nephew pup Macky. No one kept a cleaner house, folded laundry, made a bed, or could clean clothes quite like her. She will be remembered by those who loved her as a simple woman, with a giving heart, caring smile, and genuinely kind nature who took no nonsense, but gave you everything she had. Her kindhearted spirit and gentle soul will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her sister and brother- in -law Carol (Cluss) and Joseph Pulak, and her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Suzanne (Krecko) Cluss. Her four nieces Amanda Stephenson (Sean), Jennifer Cluss, Dana Brennan (Michael) and Judith Wadell (Kyle) and seven great nieces and nephews including her four great nieces Brea and Julia Brennan and Madelynn and Reese Stephenson whom she devoted so much of her time to in the last years of her life. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Hans and Marjorie Cluss, and her brother John.
Relatives and friends are invited to join in her celebration of life service on Monday February 14, 2022 at 1 PM at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home located at George Washington Memorial Park - 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 12 - 1PM.
