John E. Bachand, age 85 of Horsham, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Born in Delaware and resided in Pennsylvania, John was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. A proud US Marine veteran, John was enlisted from 1956 – 1959 and gained standing as Lance Corporal E3. He earned a degree in accounting from Goldey Beacom School of Business. Proud business owner of Tri-J Enterprises Inc for 18 years. Above all else, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was the member of the Ambler Jaycees for many years, and as president, he spearheaded a project by the name of the Ambler Teen Center. This was a project to get teens off the street and let them socialize in a healthy way. He was an active board member of various organizations, some including, Ambler YMCA, Whitpain Township Committeeman, Kiwanis Club, Door and Hardware Institute (President).
John was an avid golfer and a member of several golf clubs. He was an active member of the Old York Road County Club and developed a wonderful network of friendships. He loved to travel with his family. He was a proud fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers and knew all the rules inside and out. He was a big Penn State fan and watched all the games.
Son of the late Cecelia Wilson; Husband of the late Suzanne M. Bachand and Kay Bachand; Brother of the late Ann Hanlin, Cecelia Maston. He is survived by his loving children, Jennifer Juneau, John E. Bachand and JoAnna; Beloved Stepchildren, Barry Elvidge and Emily, and Keith Elvidge and Enadia; Cherished grandchildren; Zachary C. Juneau and Madeline, Vanessa R. Wurtz and Tyler, Julianna E. Bachand, Jenna E. Bachand, Justin Elvidge, and Aiden Elvidge; Precious great-grandchildren; Riley S. K. Juneau, and Sebastian M. Juneau.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's funeral service at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the Heritage Chapel at George Washington Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10 AM until service time to share fond memories.
John will be laid to rest in George Washington Memorial Park following the service.
