Obituary of John Cohan
Mr. John "Jack" E. Cohan passed away December 7th, 2011. He was 79 years old. Born June 14th, 1932 he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (nee Broadbelt). He was the beloved husband to Miriam (formerly Brelsford-Valentine) for 41 years. Jack was a maintenance supervisor working for Allenwood Steel and later for Handy & Harmon. He was a member of the Norristown VFW Drum & Bugle Corps as a young man and was also a social member at the VFW. He was considered by his family to be a "Jack" of all trades including wood crafting, working on cars and he also dabbled as an electrician. He was an all around Mr. Fix it. He enjoyed travelling, reading, watching TV and above all else spending time with his family who he loved very much. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his step-children: Cindy Pennington (Wade), Judy Ready (Tom), Thomas Valentine (Carol), and Patti Valentine. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy DeStefano. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Jack's life on Saturday December 17th from 10:00AM-12:00PM in the Kirk & Nice Funeral Home 80 Stenton Ave. Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
