Obituary of John Myles

Myles, John Wesley, of Philadelphia, PA on September 15, 2011. Age 71. He was an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., He served as a former Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club and current member of the King of Prussia Rotary Club. Mr. Myles was a Republican Committeeman and was a supporter of the African American Museum of Philadelphia. He was a member of the Peace Corps who served in Somalia, Africa. He was a former teacher of mathematics at Gillespie Middle School in Philadelphia and was the first African American State Farm insurance agent in Pennsylvania.

Beloved husband of Dr. Geraldine Hinnant Myles. Loving father of Julia Anne Myles. Dear brother of Ruth Pettis, Gilda Myles and Paul Myles. Also surived by his mother, Birdette Myles, his godchildren Jeremy May and Diakeim Lyles, and his aunts Lucille Woodford, Dean Morrison and Brooksie Davis. He was preceded in death by his father Jesse Myles and brother Jesse Myles, Jr.
