John Bernard Overwise, age 83, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Community at Telford. A longtime resident of Souderton, John is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia, and his beloved siblings, Lana and David. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Twila.

Born in Philadelphia, John proudly served his country in the United States Army after high school. He later built a successful career managing residential housing units in the Philadelphia area, where fate brought him together with Cynthia. Their connection was immediate, and they married in 1983, beginning a lifelong journey of love and partnership.

A master carpenter and skilled craftsman, John had a natural talent for working with his hands. When Cynthia's career led them to North Wales, John embraced a new venture—purchasing a multi-unit building and establishing a store, which he managed for nearly 40 years before retiring.

Beyond his professional achievements, John had an adventurous spirit and a generous heart. He loved traveling the world, exploring destinations such as Europe, New Zealand, the Galápagos Islands, and Machu Picchu. His kindness and wisdom left a lasting impact on those around him, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer guidance based on his own experiences. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to honor John's life on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at Kirk and Nice Funeral Home, 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. A gathering will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. John will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park.
