Obituary of Joseph Kelly

Joseph F. Kelly of Collegeville, PA on November 24, 2013. Son of the late Joseph and Irene (Haley) Kelly, he was born in Girardville, PA on July 28, 1938. He was a shop steward for Retail Clerks 1357 and one of the founders of the union's federal credit union; an executive member for Council 13, and an organizer for Retail Clerks International. Mr. Kelly was a vice president, business agent and organizing director for UFCW 1776. He also worked on Teamster elections, and retired in 1993 from union activities but not from work. He held many other jobs until 2011. He loved football, reading, hunting, playing cards with his lifelong friends, spending time traveling with his bride of 51 years, Kathleen Garrison Kelly. He was extremely proud of his children and 10 grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Kathy Kelly Murtin (John), Tina Kelly Romberger (Paul), Joe Kelly (Donna) , Jocelynn Kelly Keidel and the late Brian J. Kelly.

Also survived by his sister, Peggy Kelly Linda and brother Michael Kelly. Preceded in death by his siblings Renee Kelly Brennan, John Kelly and William Kelly.
