Obituary of Joseph Restifo

RESTIFO, JOSEPH V. Esquire, a respected member of the Philadelphia Bar for over 50 years, passed away on June 20, 2009 after a long illness. Joe was well known and admired by judges, their clerks and fellow attorneys for his diligent preparation of his cases, his courageous pursuit of justice for his clients and his intellectual interest in the law. Joe was born in 1931 in South Philadelphia, graduated from Central High School in 1948. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1952. Joe went on to study the law at New York University and graduated with an LLB in 1955. He also served in the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Joe leaves behind his wife Carol, children: Alessandra, Linda, Michael, Diana, and Kathleen, sister, Rosemarie and brother Richard.
