Obituary of Josephine Baker
Rev. Dr. Josephine Louisa Redenius Baker, LT COL, USA, (Ret) on November 20, 2013, of Wayne, PA. Wife of the late LTG Milton G. Baker, founder of VFMA&C. Daughter of the late Josephine and Jacob Redenius, she was born in Oceanville, NJ. She received her MA in Journalism from American University, LHD from Temple University, MA in Religious Studies from St. Charles Seminary, MDiv and Doctorate in Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Reverend Baker was enlisted as Private WAAC advanced through grades to LT COL, US Army, (Ret). She was an intelligence officer atomic installations throughout US and Canada and held numerous other positions to include Assistant Officer Chief of Staff Armed Forces Far East, Escort Officer NATO, and Chief Women's Army Corp Recruiting Officer. Reverend Baker received many awards including Legion of Merit PA Meritorious Service Medal and US Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
Surviving are her brother, Theodore Thomas Redenius, her sister, Emma R. Morrow, her nephews, John Morrow and Ron Redenius, nieces, Joyce Morrow, Joanne Vereneck, and Cheryl Legler.
