IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen Marie
Spigelmyer
February 13, 1953 – March 15, 2022
With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that Kathleen Marie Spigelmyer (nee O'Connor) of Flourtown, PA, passed away suddenly on March 15, 2022 at the age of 69. Kathi will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years, Melvin L. Spigelmyer Sr.; siblings, Susan Kaiser (David) and James O'Connor (Star); her children, Mel Spigelmyer Jr. (Heather), Lauren DiFerdinando (Aaron), and Ryan Spigelmyer (Rebecca); and her grandchildren, Clay, Luke, Hudson, Everett, Charlotte, and Max.
Born on February 13, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA to the late James J. O'Connor and Jean W. Hensman (nee Cordingly), she grew up in Roxborough. Kathi attended St. John The Baptist for grade school and graduated from Roxborough High School in 1971.
In 1974, she met her husband while working together at ARA Services (Aramark) as a paralegal. Mel and Kathi were married in 1978 and purchased their life-long home in Flourtown.
Kathi left ARA in 1980 to become a stay at home mom where she thrived. Over the years, she served as a cub scout den mother, a member and eventual President of the Springfield Township PTA, and briefly dabbled in real estate.
She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Chestnut Hill College in 1998 and returned there to work in various roles over the years. Most recently, she was the Assistant to the President and General Counsel. She was highly regarded and respected at the College.
She was a master gardener, loved to travel the world, was an avid counted-cross stitch extraordinaire, had a passion for making jewelry and her home-cooked meals brought the entire family together. Most importantly, she made everyone feel welcomed, loved and made sure you knew how special you were to her.
Friends and family are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home located at George Washington Memorial Park - 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
