Kenneth Charles Karpinski, Sr., "Ken" a.k.a. Karp, passed away at his residence in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, June 21, 2020. He was 65. Born on May 5, 1955 in Philadelphia, he was the sixth child of Charles and Evelyn (Shoup) Karpinski.
After receiving a medical discharge from the US Army, Ken was a transit operator for SEPTA for over thirty years before retiring and enjoying his life traveling with his wife, Lorraine. In addition to his love of traveling, he also enjoyed flying model airplanes with the North East Philadelphia Radio Control Club, singing karaoke, and listening to various styles of music. Everywhere he went, he brought his guitar.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Coady) Karpinski, sons Kenneth Jr. (LeeAnn) and Andrew (Heather) Karpinski, granddaughters Jenna and Evelyn Karpinski, grandson Lucas Karpinski, sisters Linda Ottinger, Carol (Ed) Pennypacker, Loraine (Joe) Nagele, Joan (Sam) Gutchen, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind many friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Karpinski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a greeting in Ken's honor at Georgine's, 1320 Newport Rd., Bristol, PA 19007 at noon. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM.
