IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leslie Ann
Hubicki
July 21, 1956 – December 2, 2023
Leslie was born Leslie Ann Frakes as the fourth of five children born to Irene and Paul Frakes on 7/21/1956. She lived with her family in Schuylkill Haven, PA. until she was 2 years old. From that point on, she lived in Erdenheim, PA, Springfield township where she attended Erdenheim and Penn Manor Elementary, Hillcrest Junior High and Springfield High School. She was a girl scout for several years and also a school safety.
From an early age, Leslie loved to sing. She loved church and children's Sunday school songs, as well as popular music. She was active in Saint Mark's United Methodist Church choir, and Youth Group. In Junior High she was a member of several Choral groups and loved being part of the Swing Choir. In High School Leslie joined Band Front as a member of the rifle Squad in the drill team. After High School she attended Montgomery County Community College for 2 years. She worked hard at a number of jobs in her teens from babysitting to Norge Village Cleaners, Friendly's Restaurant and as an Avon Distributor in college. She completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at York College, in York PA. At York College she was a member of the College choir, Omega Theta Chi, and assistant director of the women's dormitory.
Leslie was married for 11 years to Joseph Hubicki. She worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter for most of her working years, for several companies. Leslie had many interests. Family was especially important to her, and she loved her family and friends very much, many of whom she considered to be family to her as well. Her Church families included Oreland Baptist Church, Independent Bible Church of Willow Grove, Buxmont Baptist, Montgomery Baptist and Calvary Chapel of Quakertown. She volunteered for many years as an Explorer Gril's Leader at Independent Bible Church, leading the 5th and 6th grade Discoverers group on Tuesday nights. She loved travel and adventure, having gone to Ireland and several cruises as well as weekend getaways and trips to see relatives in California, Oregon, and Arizona. She was also an animal lover, and Dachshunds were her favorite breed. She had her dog Rascal for over 14 years and her cat Coconuts for over 20 years. Leslie loved shopping and was a champion bargain hunter and shrewd deal maker. Leslie delighted in gift giving to family and friends, for birthdays and Christmas. She loved shopping for Samaritan's purse Shoe boxes and many other charitable organizations.
Leslie spoke often of accepting Jesus Christ as her savior as a little girl and feeling his presence in her life ever since. Though hardships of this world could be overwhelming at times, when Leslie spoke of heaven, it was always with confidence and joyful anticipation. She would say, "Don't feel sorry when I am gone. When I see the Lord face to face, I will be happier than I've ever been."
