IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucretia (Creety)
Elaine Becker
March 21, 1957 – September 29, 2019
Lucretia Elaine Becker passed away peacefully at her residence on September 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. A resident of Flourtown, PA, she was born on March 21, 1957 to Marion and Mary (Taney) Anthony in Wilmington, DE.
Creety had a passion for spreading love and happiness. She was able to accomplish this in all she did throughout her life. She began this journey of spreading love right at home where she raised her three children by being actively involved in their schooling, PTA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and very active within the community.
Once her children were in secondary schools, she opened up her home to care for other children within the community. All of these children became a big part of her life, as well as their families. She continued to be a part of their lives long after they outgrew her home care and built lasting friendships with each and every family.
Using the skills and loved she showed these children, and her own, she became a preschool teacher at Hey Diddle Diddle Day School to help guide future generations in the early years of their lives. She took great pride in her classroom and loved each and every one of her students, as well as their families. Every parent would always hope their children would be placed in Miss Creety's classroom.
While not filling eager young minds, she enjoyed spending countless hours a day in the garden with her husband, which allowed them to be featured in multiple pond and garden tours, as well as 1 st Place winner in the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society garden contest. The garden has been the heart of their home. There were countless events that took place in their garden, including her son Daniel's wedding. Creety, along with her husband David enjoyed decorating their home for each and every holiday. Their home has been featured in the local paper, as the "Becker House of Horrors", where trick or treaters from all over the community look forward to walking through on Halloween night. The community would also love to drive by and gaze at the Becker's "Festival of Lights" during the Christmas holiday.
Her true passion in life was her family and especially her 11 grandchildren. She made sure she spent as many moments as she could, spending time with them and getting to know as much as she could about each one of them. All of her Grandchildren have a unique, loving relationship with her and will miss her family activities she would host to make sure the cousins had quality time together. Anticipated activities included Valentine's Bingo, the hunt for the Golden Egg at Easter, watching Santa come through the Garden's on the fire trucks each Christmas Eve, and countless other memories that will never be forgotten and we are forever grateful to have.
Creety is survived by her husband of 44 years, David John Becker, three children; Shannon Carney of Flourtown, PA, Daniel and Julie Becker of North Wales, PA, Christopher and Lyndsay Becker of Flourtown, PA; Grandchildren, Dawn Becker, Brandon and Geena Carney, Madison Carney, Abigail Carney, Kaelyn Becker, Dashiell Becker, Cole Becker, Jackson Carney, Flynn Becker and Ryan Becker, and many other loving members of her family.
She is preceded in death by; Grandson, Nathan Carney, Mother, Mary R Naylor and the late Lester B Naylor, Father, Marion W. Anthony and the late Barbara Anthony, Brothers, Daniel Anthony and Burt Naylor.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in the Garden that she created with love, located at 304 Poplar Road, Flourtown, PA 19031. Her family will greet friends and guests from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for visitation and a small service will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will be private at the request of her family.
