Madelon graduated in 1953 from Frankford High School, Phila, Pa. Early in her life she had worked in the knitting mills and Bell Telephone
in Phila. She would later work for ARC of Chester County and Plumbmaster, Inc. where she was a telephone sales associate. Her love for people and children guided her toward her jobs as a nursing assistant at Shriner's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and at Hickory House Nursing Home in Honey Brook and Kendall in Kennett Square.
Madelon retired from the Chester County IU, where she worked in several different schools within the IU with children from elementary grades through senior high, retiring in January 1997.
She was proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow up. As a young mother she enjoyed the challenge of being a Den mother for Cub scouts.She enjoyed the outdoors and her children remember in particular a hair raising toboggan ride. Her grandchildren regarded her as a hip grandmom keeping up with the latest fashion and trends; noting she was open to new ideas. For many years she enjoyed responding to children's Christmas letters mailed to Santa. In addition she had two cats she was very fond of, Brandy and Bailey. She had a kind heart and gave of herself and freely cared for many of her family members; she also had a keen sense of humor.
She enjoyed talking with the parents and kids during her daily walks throughout the Painters Crossing Community.

Madelon traveled the country from Nova Scotia, Canada, to California, the Northwest, as well as the Southeastern part of the US. She also enjoyed traveling most recently to Hilton Head Island, and Myrtle Beach, SC with her
husband Ron.
