IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mario Anthony
Pallini
February 25, 1931 – September 2, 2021
Mario Anthony Pallini, 90, a retired Federal Reserve Civil Service employee went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 2, 2021 in Birdsboro, Berks County, PA. He was born on February 25, 1931 in Harrisburg, PA and was preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe and Assunta Pallini and 2 year older brother Joseph. He was a widower of his beloved wife, Peggy Ann (Rice) Pallini.
Mario was employed by the U.S. Government for 35 years until he retired in 1986. He started at Olmsted Air Force Base, Middletown, PA and finished his career with the Army Electronic Command and finally at the Naval Aviation Supply Office in Philadelphia, PA. At all three services he shipped parts to various supply points for military support of aircraft worldwide as an Inventory Manager Specialist. He was a member of Epiphany of Lord Catholic Church in Plymouth Meeting.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School and later graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School, Class of 1949. He left college when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the 3rd Division/8th Army at an Ammunition Supply Point in the Chorwon-Kumwa Valley and later was transferred to a 103mm Artillery Unit. He served from 1952 to 1954 and attained the rank of Sergeant prior to Honorable Discharge.
Mario was a kind, generous man who loved people. He enjoyed being part of a large extended family which included his wife's 10 brothers, sisters, their spouses and children. He was a loving husband and committed to his wife Peggy for the entire 44 years of their marriage. After she became ill with MS he selflessly cared for her for 25 years until her death on September 1, 2001. He was a family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed sports, particularly football and loved gardening, flowers, walking and most of all his family. He also loved reading, music, poetry and cooking. In his spare time he liked to tinker around and fix things. Born during the depression, he saved everything! He was a fun loving man who was the life of the party. He would talk to everyone and would help anyone in need. In his earlier years, he and Peggy loved to go out dancing. They frequently had family gatherings for picnics in their back yard on Groff Avenue in Elizabethtown, PA.
He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Ann Salemno (Pallini) and husband Carmen of Benton and Tracy Lynn Robinson (Pallini) and husband Steve of Birdsboro, PA with whom he resided; six grandchildren, Michael V. Salemno, Carmen A. Salemno, Andrew S. Robinson, Ashley J. Robinson, Stephanie D. Robinson, and Emily R. Robinson; great granddaughter, Isabella Rose Salemno.
