Maynard Ray Reinke, of Flourtown, died Sunday, July 9 at Dresher Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, six days after celebrating his 85th birthday. He leaves his beloved wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Reinke (Baumer); his daughter Elizabeth Candelore (Reinke) and son-in-law Justin Candelore; and his son, Chris Reinke and daughter-in-law Alana Mauger.
Mr. Reinke was born in Ashton, Iowa on July 3, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Reinke and Elizabeth Reinke (Strenge); his sister Jean Cooperrider (Reinke); and his brother, Robert Reinke. After serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Mr. Reinke graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Iowa State University and later with a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Temple University. Prior to his retirement at age 71, he worked as a data scientist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Mr. Reinke was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wyndmoor, where he served on church council as treasurer.
A memorial service will be held on July 22 at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 801 E. Willow Grove Ave., Wyndmoor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
