Mettie Jean Hinnant, formerly of Wilson, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 80 years old.

Mettie was a member of the 1960 Darden High School graduating class.  She spent her adulthood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where members of her family reside.

She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Ray Hinnant and sister Christine Hinnant Sanders.

Surviving her are her brothers Hobbie Lee "Bill" Hinnant (Velma) of Kenly, North Carolina, and Gordon Donnell Hinnant (Sandra) of Glenn Dale, Maryland, and sister Geraldine Hinnant Myles of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a host of family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at Kirk and Nice Funeral Chapel in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1 PM.

Interment will follow at the Ned and Lydia Kent Family Cemetery in Kenly, North Carolina.
