IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael J.
Marino
May 21, 1948 – February 16, 2026
Michael John Marino, 77, of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, supported by his loving family and friends. Michael was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Michael and Angela (Moccio) Marino, and his siblings, Antoinette Dolan and Peter Marino.
Born in Philadelphia and raised in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, Michael proudly enlisted in the United States Army in 1967 and served in the Vietnam War, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. Following his military service, he pursued his joy of cooking, graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1984 and built a distinguished career as an Executive Chef with Marriott and Aramark.
In 1985, Michael married his devoted wife Margaret Hageman Bascom Cron, with whom he celebrated their 40th anniversary this past November. Michael spent countless summers with family along several Jersey Shore points throughout his life, was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, loved jazz and oldies music. He cherished decades of "supper club" dinners with his Culinary Institute of America buddies and was famously known for carving the family Thanksgiving turkey each year. Above all, he was a constant presence on and off the field for his two adoring children and treasured time with his grandchildren, celebrating each milestone in their lives.
In addition to his wife, Margaret, Michael is survived by his children, daughter Leahanne (Davis) M. Barsby and son Michael M. Marino; his cherished grandchildren, Lillian Davison Barsby and Blake Bascom Barsby; his best friend and brother, Samuel "Chick" Marino; his sister-in-law, Carol A. Marino; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 440 S. Bethlehem Pike, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the American Heart Association in his memory.
