Nancy Carolyn Shackleford Hogeland died after a lengthy battle with cancer on April 1, 2015.

Nancy was born December 6, 1930 in Washington, DC. She lived 21 places by the time she was 21, at times attending three schools in one school year. Nancy graduated from Roxborough High School in 1948 and attended Penn State for one year. In 1950, she married Donald Hogeland, and then after two years of Don''s service in the Army, they settled in the Norristown area.

Nancy made her career as an executive secretary and worked at Leeds & Northrup before taking time off to raise her family. For 15 years, she served as secretary at Plymouth Valley Baptist Church then worked at MARC for 7 years.

She loved spending time with her family, traveling, and had a passion and gift for gardening. She was a member of the Norristown Garden Club. She was also a long time active member of Baptist Temple.

Nancy is survived by her best friend and husband of 64 years Donald J Hogeland, 4 children Susan Drumond (Bill) of Park City , Utah, Donald Jr (Kathy) of Seattle, Washington, Laurie Kleman (Bob) of Blue Bell, PA, and Linda Reisor (Ron) of Wilmington, DE, and 8 grandchildren: Kelly Alderson-Avni, Jeb Alderson, Megan Boullin, Kevin Hogeland, Jess Kleman, Jenna Kleman, Scott Reisor, and Kristen Reisor. Also survived by her sister Jackie Wallace, brother Leonard Shackleford, Jr. (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Bayada, Fox Chase and Springhouse Estates for their loving care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 am at Grace Baptist Church, 437 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 where friends will be received from 10 am. Interment is private.
