Obituary of Nellie Geere
Nellie Farrell Geere, 95, most recently of Charlotte, NC, but long time resident of Blue Bell, died July 15, 2015. She was the devoted wife of George H. Geere, Jr. who predeceased her in 1987. She was one of 8 children of the late Thomas and Nellie Farrell, also being predeceased by her 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Nellie, affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Lil Nell" and "Nellie Bell", was known for her love of her family, her cooking and her spunky nature. She and George built their home in Blue Bell, where she resided until her late 80's. The couple were avid surf fishermen, when they weren't running George's electrical business. There wasn't anything Nellie couldn't fix and she loved playing cards and Rummikub. More recently, she was fond of wearing hats and dancing.
She was an extraordinary woman who will be missed by many including: daughters Virginia Travitzky and Kathleen Teti(Anthony), son Richard Geere and stepson George Geere III; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Services: Funeral service at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 (610) 832-2064. Viewing begins Friday July 24th at 10 am, followed by services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center Square Fire Company, 1298 Skippack Pike Blue Bell, PA 19422. Interment George Washington Memorial Park.
