Norma, 81, resident of Normandy Farms in Blue Bell, passed away on Aug. 6, 2017. She was born in Gilbertsville on Sep. 28, 1935 to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Buckwalter) Hedrick. She was the loving wife of the late Samuel James Mortimer for over 50 years. She was the Boyertown High School Valedictorian, graduate of Drexel University, and teacher of home economics at Norristown High School. After completing her Master''s degree in Nutrition, she worked for WIC of Montgomery County for many years and later worked for Merck until her retirement in 1993. For many years, she taught Sunday School and volunteered at Kirkwood Camp honing her skills as fireside cook. She was an active member of Church on the Mall and loved to sing in the choir. She is predeceased by her daughter Barbara Mortimer; and sisters Bernice Devlin, Evelyn Gotthart, and Ruth Grace.
She is survived by her daughters Carolyn O''Connor and Susan Patt; granddaughters Meghan, Eva, and Lucy; and many other loving family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sat. Aug. 26 at 11:00am at the Church on the Mall, 500 W. Germantown Pike #1900, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church.
